week of little sleep

i’ve done a week of morning shifts at the bbc, which has turned me into a bit of a non-person in the evenings - getting up at half 4 every morning does strange things to the body, like making your bones feel hot, and feeling awake and asleep at the same time. afternoon naps are the key, although today a and i went for a swim then lunch, record shopping and coffee and cake. lovely. anyway here’s what i’ve been up to:

1. had an interview with the rsamd for their composition masters course. they asked “where are the scores?”. i didn’t get in. but! they’ve recommended i apply for the continuing education course, a part-time programme that would suit me well but which involves AN AUDITION. argh.

2. viewed about 7 flats with a view to buying a place in the new year. all were a bit too small / weird but it looks promising.

3. got offered a miaoux miaoux gig at tuts, so will be preparing for that in the next two weeks. december 14th. come!

4. learnt the guitar part to “buck and judy” by deerhoof. john dieterich is just brilliant.
